Support Maureen's Battle Against Myelofibrosis
Donación protegida
If you know Maureen Botkin, you know how deeply she’s loved by everyone around her.
She is one of the kindest, most loving people you could ever meet. She has a heart of gold, a gift for making people feel seen and cared for, and a warmth that draws others in.
Recently, Maureen was diagnosed with Myelofibrosis—an aggressive blood cancer that affects the bone marrow. Her only chance at survival was a bone marrow transplant. Thankfully, a donor was found, and Maureen had her transplant on May 14th.
But her journey is far from over.
She spent 27 days in the hospital and now has to stay near the transplant facility in Scottsdale for up to three months. Even after that, she’ll be at the hospital three days a week for hours at a time until she’s cleared by her doctors.
Because of the nature of her work as a hairdresser—and her close contact with clients—Maureen won’t be able to work for at least a year.
And healing from something this intense isn’t just physically exhausting. It’s expensive.
Her medications alone will cost hundreds per month. She needs to stay in a clean, safe space near her doctors in Scottsdale while staying on top of her mortgage back home in Tucson. She needs regular lab work, constant monitoring, and much more.
Her husband Mike is working tirelessly to support her. As well as taking care of her financially, he is serving as her full-time caregiver - anyone in this position needs extra support.
Maureen deserves to recover comfortably, and without financial stress. That’s why we’re asking for help.
If Maureen has ever made you laugh, supported you, lifted your spirits, or simply made your day brighter, please consider supporting her now—by donating, sharing this fundraiser, praying, or sending a message of love.
Every bit of support helps take pressure off so she can focus on healing.
Thank you for being part of Team Maureen ❤️
