Support Mary Betterman in Her Fight Against Oral Squamous Cell Carcinoma

Hello friends, family, acquaintances, and even kind-hearted strangers! My name is Julie, and along with my brothers—Jeffrey, Jared, and Joshua—we’ve created this GoFundMe on behalf of our parents, Mary and Lyle Betterman.

About a year ago, in 2025, our mom was diagnosed with oral squamous cell carcinoma. Since then, it has been a long and difficult road. We are doing our best to show up with our strengths and skills to support our parents. We are holding tightly to our faith, trusting the Lord, and praying for healing and restoration in Jesus’ name—but we also want to be honest that this journey has come with many challenges along the way.

One of the most common ways people offer support is through meals, and we are so grateful for that. However, due to her condition, our mom receives all nutrition through a gastrostomy tube (g-tube), and our dad also has some limitations with eating due to recent and ongoing dental work.
