My name is Nishant Shah, and earlier this year (February 2025), I traveled to India after the passing of my father. In that painful moment, I encountered something extraordinary.

An organization called Manav Seva had taken care of my father’s funeral arrangements—completely free of cost. They do this for anyone in the community, without ever asking for money.

When I later visited their center, I was deeply moved by what I saw. Elderly couples, abandoned or left without family support, were living there with dignity. Manav Seva provided them with food, medicine, shelter, and love.

I witnessed volunteers caring for seniors who couldn’t even stand or walk—feeding them, helping them with daily needs, and treating them with compassion as if they were their own parents. It was one of the most humbling experiences of my life.

But this noble work is not without challenges. The organization desperately needs:

• A commercial laundry machine, so clothes and bedding for dozens of residents don’t have to be washed by hand.

• Medical beds and equipment, to care for heavier patients and those requiring 24/7 medical support.

This fundraiser is my way of giving back to Manav Seva. Your contribution can bring comfort, dignity, and relief to elderly people who have no one else to care for them.
