Hello Friends.
My name is Steve. I am the guy in the photo with my dear friend Lisa. I have known her and her family for almost 40 years. Lisa worked for me as a teenager and when older as my Go-To Girl Friday in business and life. Often helping me manage business and personal appointments, paying bills, and coordinating schedules. She means the world to me and certainly to all that know her. To those that just meet her, they are instantly drawn to her. Lisa is a kind, loving, caring, giving, supportive soul with a heart as big as the sky and not least but also a great friend. Whenever I have struggled, Lisa was there for me. It feels rewarding to know people that long and have enduring friendships. It makes life meaningful, I think!
Last year, Lisa was diagnosed with CML (Chronic Myeloid Leukemia). For quite a while, Lisa has not been feeling herself. She was feeling run down, tired, and lethargic, with constant migraines. Last year, she was diagnosed with CML. She has been on targeted drugs, 1st round chemotherapy, 2nd round chemotherapy coming this week, and a bone marrow transplant in April. Her prognosis is positive, but it will take a year or longer to treat this CML.
CML is a type of blood cancer that affects the bone marrow, where white blood cells (granulocytes) are produced. In CML, the bone marrow produces an abnormally high number of immature granulocytes, called blasts.
This has created several problems for Lisa as she now cannot work or be around lots of people with her immune system weakened. Like all of us, financial situations are stressors for sure. This stress does not help her get well. I am asking friends, family, and strangers to open their hearts and wallets to Lisa. I do not ask this lightly to help my friend, and it took some convincing from me to have Lisa allow me to set this up for her.
Like most of us, Lisa is a proud, independent woman and does not accept charity and gifts easily. She is a single mother of 3 wonderful children and 2 cats. She is deserving of our love and support. Please help my friend. Thank you so much for your kindness in advance.
Please give what you can (it all adds up), and if you cannot make a donation, lots of prayers for Lisa. Hopefully, Lisa will be your friend someday as well.
She is being treated at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in NYC, one of the top-rated cancer hospitals in the world.
