We would like to request your assistance in helping one of the kindest people we know. Lisa Eller, who is an education specialist with the Grand Rapids Fire Department, has recently been diagnosed with cancer that has spread. While relatively new to working with the Department, she has touched countless lives in her previous jobs as a Grand Rapids area elementary teacher and dean, and now as an education specialist with the Fire Department teaching Grand Rapids schools’ students about fire safety.”

We are reaching out to the public safety community and friends to financially assist as she and her husband, Tim, endure this unforeseen journey. Currently, she is looking at the possibility of out-of-state specialists in the region for the best possible treatment options. Lisa has been with the Department for about 2 years. During that time, she has organized many public educational events and has championed the 2nd grade fire safety presentation program. Her impact has been both immediate and far-reaching.

We are looking to assist in covering traveling expenses, stays, and medical expenses not covered by insurance.
