Yesterday we received some devastating news. Our best friend in the entire universe has a congenital heart defect and needs to have heart surgery to repair it. We noticed some symptoms as Lia is extremely active such as irregular heart beats and dizziness. She followed up with her primary who sent her to a cardiologist who showed she has severe left side heart enlargement due to a ASD. (Arterial Septal defect). She is the captain of her travel softball team and star pitcher on her middle school and high school varsity team. Lia is absolutely loved by all. Her mom is a single mom trying to juggle paying for school and working to support her and her brother. She will need to take at least 4 weeks off to care for Lia and the mounting of medical bills she will have. Let’s come together and help our beautiful girl. Love Mara Myers (Skylar’s mom )
