If you've ever met Leah, you know that she is the most selfless and thoughtful woman you'll ever meet.

I (Joy), met Leah through my own infertility journey on an online group, and she instantly became a cherished friend and constant support. Leah is an incredible aunt, sister, daughter, and friend. She pours her heart and soul into everyone she loves. Despite her own heartaches, she is always thinking of others—checking in, making & giving the sweetest gifts, recently even putting together trick-or-treat food baskets for those in her community who may be less fortunate. She often puts aside her own grief and feelings to be a support to those she loves and will be your biggest cheerleader, meanwhile behind closed doors navigating the grief, heartbreak & the financial stress they have endured. Along side her, Zach continues to be a constant— steadfast in his love and always supporting their dream in both small and large ways, exuding a caring and helpful spirit in all that he does.

Asking for help does not come naturally and is not easy for them, but they've agreed to let me make this GoFundMe to try and help. After 3 medicated cycles, 2 egg retrievals, 4 surgeries, 5 specialty doctors, 5 euploid embryo transfers, and a chemical pregnancy, we had to face the tough realization that Leah’s body just may not be able to do this. After grief and heartache over and over, year after year, surrogacy feels like the ability to breathe when you are drowning. It makes us so hopeful.

Thus far, our entire infertility journey has been out of pocket. We have been working multiple jobs/as much overtime as we can for the past 2-3 years. To date, we have spent over $60,000 in pursuit of a gift greater than money could buy. We know the extra work and financial strain will be so worth it, and we feel immeasurably blessed that we have the financial stability to pursue infertility treatment at all.

We have had such amazing support from our family and friends and, quite honestly, we feel completely overwhelmed (in the best way) by all of your support. Surrogacy brings a whole new level of financial demand to the journey- legal, psych, FDA clearance, and medical bills as well as paying a surrogate for their immeasurable selflessness in carrying our baby earthside. We have been working tirelessly since April to build our savings to the best of our abilities.

This journey has been full of hope, vulnerability, and humility. While we’ve never been comfortable accepting money, the request from others to offer support as we embark on this next chapter has led us to agree to this GoFundMe.

Please know there is absolutely no pressure to donate. We were reluctant to accept help, but we are incredibly grateful for the love, encouragement, and support—whether financial or not—on our surrogacy journey.
