Every town deserves a place where neighbors meet the people who grow their food. Starting this May, Lambertville, N.J. , will have one. The Lambertville Farmers Market is launching its inaugural season, and we’re raising $10,000* from the community to help bring it to life. The market will run on Sundays from mid-May through October from 9 AM - noon in front of the Lambertville Free Public Library.
Our goal is to raise the needed funds by May 15th to help establish the market in its very first year, the year when everything begins. Launching a farmers market takes more than a few tents and good intentions. Our first-year budget is $15,000, supported by three sources: a generous founding donor, vendor subscription fees from local farms, and community support through this fundraiser. Your contribution helps complete that circle.
Funds raised will help cover the practical pieces that make a market welcoming and sustainable: a market manager to coordinate vendors and weekly operations, local musicians who’ll bring the atmosphere to life, signage and outreach so people can find us, and the tables, tents, and small bits of infrastructure that turn an empty space into a gathering place. Even the most essential details, like a portable restroom for visitors and vendors, are part of what it takes to make the market comfortable and accessible for everyone. Behind the scenes, a volunteer committee led by Lambertville's Mayor, Andrew Nowick, have already given hundreds of hours to planning, organizing, and building relationships with farmers and food producers. We believe Lambertville deserves a market that reflects the warmth and character of this town. Donors who contribute $500 or more will be recognized on our website as founding supporters. Those who give $1,000 or more will have the option to be listed as sponsors on market marketing materials. And we’ll welcome both groups to a donor breakfast on the first market day, a small celebration of the community that helped make the market possible. While donations are not yet tax-deductible (we are working toward establishing nonprofit status), they will help plant something meaningful: a weekly tradition where farmers, neighbors, and visitors come together. If you’d like to help Lambertville grow something special from the ground up, we’d be grateful for your support.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------*Wow! Due to overwhelming support from the community, we are increasing our fundraising goal from $5,000 to $10,000. These additional funds will support the sustainability and growth of the market for the 2027 season and organizational transition to a non-profit status.
