Support Kristi Wurth's Medical Journey

Our dear friend, Kristi Wurth, unfortunately sustained a brain bleed in the early hours on Easter morning, March 31, 2024. Kristi was transported to Baptist Health Paducah shortly after she alerted her sister that she needed help and was air lifted to Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, IN where she underwent brain surgery for drain placement that very day. She later underwent surgery for shunt placement in the brain to help with her body's management of cerebral spinal fluid. Days following surgery, Kristi experienced complications indicative of infection, underwent surgery for shunt removal, received a multitude of medicinal treatment to battle the infection in her spinal fluid, and then had a new shunt later placed on the left side of her brain. Amidst the complexity of the above, she has battled extreme pain, poor appetite leading to nasogastic feeding tube placement, and has been limited by positional and bed rest restrictions at times. Throughout Kristi's stay at Deaconess, her mother, Regina, and sister, Staci, have been nearly continually by her side, incurring large hotel expenses and obtaining little sleep and peace.

Overcoming the above battles, Kristi was able to discharge from Deaconess Hospital on May 8th, where she was then transported via ambulance to Frazier Rehab in Louisville, KY. Since arriving at Frazier, Kristi has worked hard to progress with physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy and has shown progress each day. However, as of Monday night, May 13th, Kristi's CT scan indicated her shunt (which drains into her stomach), is moving and there is concern for bowel perforation. Her family is awaiting more information from the medical staff at this time.

We are asking that you prayerfully consider donating any and all funds that you feel led to donate to assist Kristi's family in medical expenses, as well as travel and displacement expenses that they have incurred during Kristi's journey.
