Hello everyone, I’m creating this GoFundMe on behalf of a woman who deserves to know that her work here on earth is not in vain. Kizzy is a 47-year-old woman with the most selfless heart I, and many others, have ever encountered. She has been raising other people’s kids since she was sixteen years old. Born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana, and relocated to Oklahoma due to Hurricane Katrina, she has one biological child but, if you know her, she will never say she has one child. She will say she has six. On March 23, 2024, she received a phone call from a lady asking if she could keep her six kids until she turned herself in to the cops. The lady promised to turn herself in and stated that she would be back in a few days to get her kids. If you know Kizzy, you know what she did next. She agreed to keep the kids for a few days until their mom got things taken care of. Days turned into weeks, weeks turned into months, and now months have turned into years. Three of the six kids are still with Kizzy. Their mom never turned herself in, but in November 2024, she was captured and is now in prison. Kizzy has Power of Attorney for three of the six kids. The other three kids were given Power of Attorney to people that Kizzy pleaded with to help keep the kids out of the system. The three kids that Kizzy has Power of Attorney for share the same father, and in Kizzy’s mind, the dad would step up and she would be able to give him his kids. That didn’t happen.
Let’s move ahead to September 12th, 2024. Kizzy received a call from a total stranger concerning a five-month-old baby boy that was abandoned. Keep in mind she’s already taking care of three kids who were aged 2, 4, and an unspecified age, however it was mentioned earlier as 2, 3 and 4. At first, she didn’t believe the lady who called. After all, she didn’t know the lady, but the lady did explain to her that the five-month-old baby’s mother gave her the phone number and asked her to please go get her baby. Hours passed by on September 12th, and the phone calls continued. Eventually, Kizzy asked her husband to go see if the baby was at the location given, and unfortunately, he was there. That night, Rodney brought the five-month-old baby boy to the home. I know this is a lot, and it may sound like a lifetime movie, but unfortunately, this is the reality of a woman with a selfless heart that puts everyone before herself and needs to know that she needs to take time to cater to herself more.
Let me let you guys in on a glimpse of Kizzy’s daily life. She is diagnosed with a disease called Charcot’s. Unfortunately, Charcot’s affects both of her feet. Her feet are both deformed and beyond surgical repair. She also has kidney disease and, for the rest of her life, she has to take weekly infusions due to her body not producing the necessary electrolytes. In the midst of all her health problems, she continues to push herself. Saying she’s selfless sounds like an understatement.
I’ve witnessed her showing up for others when she was at her lowest level, yet she made sure she could put a smile on someone else’s face. Not only is she dealing with her own health issues, but her husband was diagnosed with cancer in 2024. One of the three siblings has thyroid disease, and the baby boy was diagnosed with IDD and has seizures. In October 2024, Kizzy had a horrible fall in which she broke her knee and fractured her right rib. She had knee surgery in October and had to have another knee surgery to remove her kneecap in November, literally three weeks apart.
Kizzy is not a person who likes to draw attention to herself, and I know once she finds out I made this GoFundMe, she will be upset with me for a minute. That’s fine; I can handle it. I just want to share her story with the world because angels do exist on earth, and she is most definitely one of them! She doesn’t receive a penny from taking care of these babies. Everything these kids have, she has brought from her own pocket. She could’ve easily placed all four of these kids in DHS custody and walked away, but if you know her, she’s not built like that. Knowing that the three siblings will most likely be split up, she sacrifices daily to continue to keep them together. There’s no amount of money that can buy time, but I just wanted to try to be a help to show her that yes, we see what you’re doing, we see your sacrifices, we see your endurance, we not only see you but we care and truly love you, Queen.
The funds raised will be used to continue to help take care of the children.and to make Kizzy’s burden a little lighter.
