Support Karen’s healing efforts

Most of you, our dear friends, have followed the odyssey of Robert’s and my many medical misadventures closely. It’s a very sad irony that I’ve been doing so well physically yet since last year I’ve struggled terribly mentally.

I was diagnosed last year with severe adrenal insufficiency. The treatment with hydrocortisone steroids undid me. I’d ended up in the hospital receiving high dose steroids intravenously. I haven’t been the same since both cognitively and mentally. Even my spirit has been broken.

We had Robert’s workers compensation stop midway last year and we barely hung on financially in 2024.

I will spare details but I’ve grown weary of life… While I would ordinarily write a thoughtful letter to you about the details and story, I just can’t. I spent a few days in the ICU over the weekend and I’m entering a Center for Hope in order to try to heal my mind and nervous system. I may need to pursue Ketamine or other aggressive treatments. These are  costly (paid some by insurance but we can’t manage the Coinsurance and deductibles). B
