Meet Julia!

Julia is a six-year old girl, who was diagnosed with high risk B-cell Lymphoblastic Leukemia in March 2022. It was news that Sgt. Mateusz Sajduk and his wife, Joanna, never wished to hear as parents. Julia received extensive treatments at Maria Fareri Children's Hospital in New York including numerous chemotherapy treatments, bone biopsy`s, lumbar punctures, and blood transfusions. It was a hard and long road to recovery, but Julia became cancer free and got a chance to ring the bell on July 2, 2024. After a short period of remission and a 10-20% chance of relapse, an unfortunate update came in March 2025, the same cancer came back. Now the fight continues as Julia receives intensive reinduction chemotherapy protocol, as well as immunotherapy and a planned bone marrow transplant, with the matching donor being her little sister, Emilia. Julia is incredible, her strength and positivity during such hard times surprises us all every day.

Sgt. Mateusz Sajduk is a New York City Sergeant assigned to the 43 Detective Squad. He has served and protected NYC for more than 17 years. His wife, Joanna, is also a public servant in the medical industry as a nuclear medicine tech. Joanna has to currently leave her job for an undetermined amount of time to take care of Julia for her long hospital stays. Julia and her family are actively involved in their community and have spent countless hours helping and supporting those in need over the years. It is our turn to come together to help and support them! We are kindly asking that you help Julia`s family with the unexpected financial burdens while they fight alongside Julia in her battle with cancer.
