On Monday, April 21st 2025, Jorge (age 39) was admitted to the hospital and given the devastating news that he has Testicular Cancer. He had been experiencing severe back and leg pain/swelling. His niece, that is currently studying to become a Sonographer, took him to class to scan his legs. As soon as the probe was on his legs it showed a significant amount of blood clots. The instructor told her she needed to get him to the ER immediately . After admission to UMC Hospital, Jorge underwent a life saving procedure to remove all the blood clots from his legs and part of his aorta with thankfully no complications. Unfortunately, a CT scan showed a mass wrapped around his abdominal aorta. Jorge’s cancer had spread.

After 3 weeks in the hospital recovering from procedures and biopsies, Jorge has been diagnosed with Testicular Seminoma Stage 4 which is what caused the significant amount of blood clots and pain. He has been transferred to Sunrise Hospital to start his chemotherapy treatment.

Jorge is a son, a brother, an uncle, and a dear friend who provides for himself, owns his own house, and helps out any of our family and friends whenever they need it. As you can imagine, with the hospital stays, the tests, and treatments that he had and will have in the future, the costs will be overwhelming.

These funds will go towards medical bills, chemotherapy treatments, medications, his mortgage and other bills. Jorge has not been able to work since the day he was initially admitted to the hospital, and will soon not be able to cover all of his expenses as treatment goes on.
