Support Jessica McCoy's Battle Against Cancer

Jessica McCoy (aka Bickel) is a 39 year old female who lives in great falls mt.

A year ago 2023 Jessica had found a lump in her right armpit and thought nothing of it due to she has had this same lump since she was younger. Well unfortunately this said lump was causing her pain in which her work family from Hilton garden in had stated “ you need to get this checked out” Jessica had just done that and while she was getting this checked out last year her doctor also noticed a lump in her right breast. Unfortunately last year because she was 38 the mammogram was denied. A year later Jessica met again with her doctor in concerns that the lump in the right breast was larger then last year and the pain in the armpit was getting worse. Her doctor did her magic and got Jessica in asap for the ultrasound and the mammogram. These both came back as suspicious. April 29th 2024 Jessica had gone in for biopsy’s for the lump in the breast and the armpit. While waiting for the results from both these to come back, April 30th 2024 Jessica had ended up going to the emergency room for unexplained pelvic pain. While Jessica was there she had been told from the er nurse “ sounds like your having kidney stones” and was given an IV for medication, “ no medication was given to her at this time” Jessica and her family then had to go to the waiting room in which Jessica had sat for 5 hours in pain due to emergencies that was happening. Jessica was then after 5 hours taken back to the er in which there was room for her and one other in the hallway with a divider. There she sat n pain waiting for Doctors to do tests on her. Unfortunately Jessica was told she was pregnant at this time ( in which she has always always wanted to be a mother this was her life dream) when they took her for ultra sounds to see why there was pain, that is when they discovered that Jessica was in fact ectopic pregnancy and her left Fallopian tube had ruptured and she was bleeding from the inside out. With this devastating news Jessica then had to make the decision to not only take out one tube but both of these tubes due to this would accrue yet again. ( Jessica was told at a younger age she would never be able to have children due to she was infertile, (7 years ago jessica surprised not only doctors but also her self and found out she was in fact pregnant but unfortunately that pregnancy too had miscarriage) Jessica at a short time had to make this decision and the emergency surgery was done. 6 liters of blood was removed from her insides, overnight stay at the hospital was needed, May 1st 2024 jessica was released from the hospital. When she was home she had received the phone call from sletton cancer institute with the results of her biopsy.. Jessica was then told she was stage 2 with the cancer in her breast in which it had spread to her lymph node. She was then recommended to see a surgeon here in great falls on may 2nd in which they had a consultation and found out they where not able to remove the cancer in the breast due to the mass had spikes and if the mass was removed it would leave cancer cells behind, this being said her surgeon and herself agreed to do a double mastectomy of the breasts. This being said she then had to meet up with a plastic surgeon on may 8th, in which this plastic surgeon stated she was a perfect candidate to get reconstruction surgery as well. After she left her plastic surgeons office that same day jessica had a pet scan done to make sure the cancer did not spread to other places in her body. On may 10th Jessica again met up with her surgeon for the cancer and that is the day her life yet again was turned upside down, her surgeon had read the results back from the pet scan and unfortunately she was no longer stage 2 breast cancer but in fact stage 4 due to the cancer cells had spread to two lesions in her spine bone. Due to the spreading of this cancer jessica can no longer get the surgery. Jessica then had met up on Monday May 13 2024, with her cancer doctor from Sletton cancer institute in which he had told her that her cancer is hormone based and the cancer was feeding off the hormones in her body that the best treatment for this they would have to put her through menopause treatments ( at 39 ) to slow the cancer down, radiation treatments to the two spots in her back. Jessica will also be starting a cancer medication that she will have to be on for the rest of her life.

This being said jessica mccoy aka Bickel is in need of our help at this time. Jessica has always been a hard worker, strong individual, always helping others before helping herself. Jessica worked for the great falls public school district for 4 years and 1 month, started at sunnyside elementary then shortly after became the cook for CMR high school in which she fell in love with the job, she has always loved children and that was her passion to “ help out those in need” unfortunately jessica made the decision to remove herself from the school district due to her mother has passed 3 years ago and she mentally needed a break, she needed time to heal from this loss, she had started working as a housekeeper at Hilton garden inn and in October of 2023 Jessica took her cooking skills and became the chef at Hilton garden inn and worked Monday through Friday as the breakfast chef, there she flourished she was happy she was meeting so many new faces and even was known for her wonderful breakfast, ( you wouldn’t know it but she had no idea how to make an omelette in October but darn does she make a great one now!!) Jessica made her 1 year anniversary with Hilton garden inn as of April 1st she had a promotion to head chef and also even hit a raise! But unfortunately due to this recent diagnosis she is no longer able to work until further notice… this being said jessica has faced so many challenges in the past month and she has a very hard time asking for help due to she is the help, but her and her family need help at this time. Her rent is coming up and bills she isn’t able to pay due to no income on her half, the person she lives with is her caretaker and he has been taking time off of work to be with her as a supporter to all her appointments, he too has missed a lot of work ( he works for the school district, and they don’t get paid til the end of the month of every month)

This being said friends family naighbors strangers and angels above anything would help at this time. Jessica doesn’t know when the doctors are Going to allow her to return back to work due to this is so fresh and still so new. And treatments are still on hold til all tests are complete.
