Support Jeremy Soita's Fight Against Sickle Cell Disease

Dear family and friends,

We are in need of your help! My nephew, Jeremy Obwana Soita, suffers from Sickle Cell Disease (SCD). He was diagnosed at only 7 months old and have been in and out of the hospital ever since.

Jeremy is currently 14 years old and has a very promising future ahead of him that is currently hindered by his disease. He loves playing soccer with his older brother Joel and younger brother Jared. He loves figuring out how stuff works and how to fix things, he has an engineer's mind. Through it all, he remains hopeful, strong and continues to fight for himself and others. He is a big advocate for other children suffering from the same condition he's lived with his whole life.

With his condition, he averages 8 hospital admissions a year, with the shortest stay being 10-20 days long. He suffers from intermittent high fevers, chills, pneumonia, convulsions, seizures and multiple brain bleeds. He recently had a serious stroke that caused him to go into a deep coma. Due to his stroke and the severity and complications from all his symptoms, Jeremy's doctors recommends that he pursue a Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT). Jeremy's insurance will not cover this life-saving procedure. He is scheduled to undergo this procedure at Apollo Hospital in New Delhi, India under the care of Gaurav Kharya. THIS IS HIS BEST AND ONLY OPTION!

Jeremy's parents are doing everything they can to support him at home, but they are unable to keep up with the cost of his increasing medical bills. His treatment plan will consist of pre-BMT workouts, donor harvest from his brother, pre-BMT preparations, the BMT procedure itself and multiple follow-up appointments. All of this is estimated to cost $43,000 USD plus.
