Less than a month ago, Jed packed up his life in the Yukon and moved to Alberta with his amazing girlfriend, Kellie, excited to build a future together and take the next step in their careers. In a single, devastating moment, everything changed.
On the morning of Friday, December 12th, 2025, Jed was involved in a tragic workplace accident that resulted in the loss of the lower half of his right arm.
If you know Jed, you know he is truly one of a kind. He is strong, endlessly positive, kind, and full of life. The outdoors has always been his happy place, dirt biking, snowmobiling, hiking, fishing, and anything else that gets him outside. He has spent his entire career working in the trades, work that relies heavily on physical strength and ability. Because of this accident, his livelihood, independence, and the life he worked so hard to build have been profoundly altered. While he’s already facing this life-altering injury with incredible strength and positivity, the road ahead is a long one.
Right now, he’s unable to work for the foreseeable future, bills are piling up, and his girlfriend has put her life on hold to be by his side during recovery. Prosthetics, especially those that would allow him to live and work actively again, are extremely expensive. Costs range from approximately $11,000 for a body-powered arm to as much as $80,000 for a myoelectric arm, which would give him the best chance of returning to the life and activities he loves. At this time, government funding is not guaranteed and is often limited.
This fundraiser is to help ease the financial stress so Jed can focus on healing and rebuilding his life. Funds will help cover living expenses, medical and rehabilitation costs, support his girlfriend while she’s caring for him, and most importantly, help Jed access a prosthetic hand and arm that can support his journey back to independence and an active, fulfilling life.
Jed has always been the kind of person who shows up for others without hesitation and now he needs our support.
Any donation, no matter the amount, will make a meaningful difference. If you’re unable to donate, sharing this fundraiser is just as appreciated. Your support will help give him the tools, time, and stability he needs to move forward with this next chapter of his life.
