Support Jason Morgason's Final Arrangements

Hi! My name is Mark and I’m trying to raise funds for a funeral/cremation/marker for my good and dear friend Jason Morgason.

Jason, who was 51 years old, had been in prison a few times but seemed to have gotten himself turned around. He had recently been released on parole about two months ago, came to Dallas, TX to a good halfway house with rent all paid up, got himself some new clothes, a new cell phone all paid, had food, a monthly bus pass, etc. He was about to start a new job and, last I had heard, he was going to training for that job and just needed to get a schedule change from parole. And I think that many who have also been in a similar situation will know, for an inmate just getting out on parole, he had hit the jackpot and was well on his way to getting his life together and moving in the right direction!

I really think he had the confidence to make it this time and was going to go far!

But all his hopes and dreams were cut short. Last Monday, October 13, 2025, his body was found in Hamilton Park just off a running trail, wearing sweatpants; no signs of struggle or bruising, no wounds of any kind. No cell phone, no rings, no wallet, no money, none of his clothes, no bus pass, no ID – nothing on him. He was listed as a “John Doe” and identified via fingerprints; his son was notified by the Dallas PD on October 15th.

Since there didn’t seem to be any signs of struggle or trauma; case closed by the police!

Even though his future was cut short, not sure of the reason(s) yet until the autopsy comes back (90 days – case # IFS-25-16452), Jason’s son, who is young and struggling financially, wants to take responsibility for his father’s final arrangements and needs some help, please.

Jason was a father, a good friend (to me anyway), and was someone that was loved. He had done his time and paid his debt to society, and he was ready to move on and move up with all the plans that he had for his future and the time to be with his son again!

He did not deserve to have his life ended; he was just really beginning again. Whatever you can afford in these times would be very helpful with these final respects towards Jason.

Thank you!
