My name is Tanya Williams and I'm a citizen of the United States. I'm reaching out with a heavy heart on behalf of a dear friend Janice Embden in Jamaica who has lost almost everything in the wake of Hurricane Melissa.

The storm tore through her community, leaving behind heartbreaking devastation. Her roof was destroyed, and floodwaters filled her yard and home, destroying what little she had left. To make matters worse, her livestock—her main source of income and food—were all lost in the flood. She currently has no safe place to sleep and is struggling just to meet her basic needs for shelter, food, and clean water.

This humble, hardworking woman has always given what little she had to others. Now, she needs our help. The funds raised will go directly toward:

• Rebuilding her damaged roof and home

• Replacing essential household items

• Restoring her small livestock farm, so she can regain her livelihood

• Securing food, clothing, and temporary shelter while rebuilding begins
