Support My SCAD Senior Fashion Collection & Fashion Film!
Hi everyone! My name is Heather Murphy, and I’m a senior fashion design student at The Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD), creating my final collection titled Unseen.
Pursuing a fashion design degree has been an incredible journey, but the financial challenges that come with it are becoming overwhelming. I’ve worked hard to get to this point—balancing scholarships, part-time jobs, savings, and student loans—but the costs of tuition, materials, and production for my final collection add an extra burden. Designing and producing this collection is a major step toward my future in the fashion industry, and any support, big or small, will help make it possible. Every donation will go directly toward fabric, trims, sewing supplies, and essential expenses to bring my vision to life. This collection is inspired by the Invisible String Theory—the idea that we are all connected by unseen threads, guiding us to the people and moments meant for us. If you’re unfamiliar, think of it as an invisible force that ties us to our past, present, and future connections, shaping who we become. Unseen brings this idea to life through themes of guidance and protection, using a mix of structured and flowing elements to represent the balance between what we can see and what we instinctively feel.
This five-look collection will feature:
- A combination of structured fabrics and soft, fluid materials, representing the balance between what is visible and what is felt.
- Thoughtful handcrafted details like draping and subtle embellishments, capturing the emotional depth and connection of these invisible ties.
- A refined color palette of whites, tans, creams, muted greens, and gold, symbolizing purity, memory, and the invisible threads that tie us together.
Bringing this collection to life requires a significant investment in materials, fabrics, and essential supplies to create each design. In addition to that, a fashion film and photoshoot are key components of the project, allowing me to fully showcase the depth and emotion behind Unseen. These elements are essential to presenting my work at its highest potential, but they come with substantial costs.
