Help Bring Run Your City to Vermillion

We’re raising money to bring Run Your City to Vermillion, South Dakota — a free youth running program designed to help local kids build confidence, healthy habits, friendships, and a love for running.

Run Your City was founded in 2018 with a simple belief: every child deserves the opportunity to step up to the starting line. The program connects college students and student-athletes with local elementary and middle school students, creating a positive community through running.

Our Vermillion chapter will provide children from kindergarten through 8th grade with a welcoming, inclusive environment where they can run, have fun, and grow — regardless of their athletic ability or socioeconomic background.

The program consists of weekly practices and race days, led by college student volunteers who serve as coaches and mentors. We’ll also work with local schools and businesses to help ensure that kids who may face barriers to participation have everything they need to be involved.

We believe running can be so much more than a sport. It can teach kids perseverance, confidence, teamwork, and that they are capable of more than they may realize.

Our goal is to create a program where every kid in Vermillion feels welcomed, supported, and excited to show up each week.
