Support for the Desilest Family

Donation protected
As you may know, Jen has been diagnosed with Osteosarcoma, a type of bone cancer that was found in her lower jaw.  As osteosarcoma is an aggressive cancer, the treatment is quite aggressive as well.   Jen will be having surgery to have her right lower jaw removed and replaced with bone from her lower leg. This is obviously an extensive surgery and she will need to be on breathing tubes and feeding tubes for 2 weeks of recovery in the hospital (in Hamilton).

Once home, it will then be another 6-8 weeks of recovery, regaining strength and allowing the swelling to heal.  Once she is stronger and recovering, the next step in the treatment will be chemotherapy. This will be followed by some involved dental work to replace all the teeth Jen will lose from this surgery.

The financial impact of lost wages for a number of months as well as gas costs and travel etc, along with unknown costs of dental treatments and other needed things down the road are still unknown. We would love to be able to stand in the gap for Jen and her family, both by covering her in prayer, and helping to meet these financial needs.

Jen and Dan hope to share updates here: https://www.caringbridge.org/visit/jendesilest
