Support for the Carnes Ananias Family

Dear Friends,

Joe and Christina Carnes Ananias have had beloved friends wherever they have lived – from Siloam Springs, AR, to Chicago; Duke Divinity to Mt. Pleasant; Durham to Raleigh and Chapel Hill. Wherever they’ve lived, they have both been beacons of the light and love of Jesus Christ and encouraged all around them to be more hopeful and faithful followers.

And now it’s time give thanks for these two and show our love and support for them in very real and tangible ways. By now you likely know about the very challenging diagnosis that they are facing around Joe’s health. After a week of testing in late May, Joe was diagnosed with ALS. At the same time, Christina accepted an excellent position at Belmont University and they are moving to Nashville in July. And of course, in the midst of all these major life events, they are caring for and loving Sammy (3) and Lizzy (1).

First, we invite you to pray boldly to God for full healing and wholeness for Joe and that his life will be extended by many years.

We also invite you to give a gift to financially support Joe and Christina through this GoFundMe Site. While we name $50,000 as a goal, we hope to exceed this. As we can imagine, expenses associated with medical care, prescriptions, moving and childcare are just the beginning of expenses not provided for in a family budget. Our hope is to minimize the additional stress of financial concern in the months and years ahead. (These gifts are not tax deductible.)

Upon reaching a first goal, we will continue to enable future giving.
