I am a single mother with 2 dependent daughters who needs to raise money ($3500) for a new lawyer retainer fee to represent me and my daughters (plus $1000 to lawyer who has not done anything) so that we have an adequate advocate on our behalf. I have been trying to work at things with their dad diplomatically but after a year and a half I am still waiting for money from my marital property while my daughters and I have moved from apartment to apartment.  I have also been waiting and hoping for child support for both daughters which I have not received for over a year.

They live with me fulltime and are with me all the time except when at school.  I have needed to pay for medical needs on their behalf in addition to everything else. Without proper legal representation  I can see that our future has become dire and financially scary.  I do not want to be evicted from our current home.  I found the lawyer who knows how to deal with people who are avoiding their parental responsibilities but I do not have any $ to hire her. 

Can you help me raise the $3500 retainer fee (plus $1000 to inadequate lawyer) to secure freedom and peace of mind from the person who is keeping us connected by financial control and fear?   I feel shy asking but time is of the essence and our situation is urgent.  I am willing to do this on behalf of my daughters and I to enable us to move forward with financial peace of mind and hope for the future instead of anxiety and fear.  With my one daughter a senior in high school I want to set this financial trap behind us so I can focus on her senior year and what is beyond.
