Support for Shaun’s Surgery & Recovery: A Call for Help From Our Family
Hello, my name is Lea, and I’m proud to be the wife of Shaun. This October, Shaun and I will celebrate 11 years of marriage and nearly 15 years together—years filled with love, resilience, and unwavering commitment to one another.
Since my diagnosis in 2017, and again when it returned in 2021, Shaun has been by my side through every battle. In 2024, upon the advice of my doctors, I had to resign from my job to focus on treatment for stage four metastatic breast cancer. Shaun, without hesitation, became our family’s sole provider—carrying the weight of every bill, every responsibility, and every hardship that came our way.
She’s done this all while enduring her own serious health issues. In 2020, Shaun was hospitalized due to severe anemia and painful uterine fibroids. She was advised to undergo surgery, but she put it off to make sure I was stable enough in my treatment first. Since then, she’s been through painful iron and blood infusions, many of which haven’t worked. Despite everything, she’s never complained—only continued to give, care, and love.
Now, the time has come when she can’t wait any longer. After a recent MRI, her doctor informed her that this has become an emergent situation—surgery is no longer optional. Shaun is now scheduled for surgery on Thursday, July 24, 2025, and will be out of work for at least 10 weeks.
While we are hopeful that this surgery will finally bring her relief, we are also very concerned. With Shaun unable to work and myself unable to provide due to my illness, we are facing a financial crisis during her recovery. We’re currently unsure what assistance she may qualify for through disability.
We don’t ask for help easily—but right now, we truly need it.
Our goal is to raise $6,000 to cover essential living expenses, and every single contribution—no matter the amount—truly makes a difference. Every donation helps us pay the bills, keep our household afloat, and ensure Shaun can recover without additional stress.
Even if you can't give financially, your prayers, encouragement, and shares of our story mean the world.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for standing with us. May God bless you for your kindness.
With love,
Lea & Shaun
