My name is Terri Batchelor, and I am a close family friend of Ricky Snelgrove. I am organizing this fundraiser on behalf of Ricky and his family during this incredibly difficult time.

Our community was shocked to learn that Ricky was recently diagnosed with a rare and aggressive form of leukemia (ETP-ALL ).

Just weeks ago, he was doing what he has always done — working hard, staying active, and helping others. Now he is facing an intense battle that requires chemotherapy and specialized treatment at Winship Emory University Hospital in Atlanta.

Ricky is 69 years old and has spent his life working with his hands.

In Eastman, he is known as a painter, handyman, and skilled construction worker — the person you call when something needs to be fixed, built, or painted the right way. He has helped countless families and businesses over the years, always willing to lend his time and talent without hesitation.

He is a devoted father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and loyal friend. Strong, steady, and dependable — the kind of man who shows up when others need him and never asks for help himself.

Because of the seriousness of his diagnosis, Ricky will need ongoing chemotherapy, frequent testing, and close monitoring in Atlanta. While we are grateful he is receiving excellent care, the financial strain of medical bills, travel expenses, lodging, meals, and time away from work is already significant.

This fundraiser is to help ease that burden so Ricky can focus fully on treatment and recovery without the added stress of mounting expenses.

Funds raised will go toward medical expenses not covered by insurance, travel and lodging during treatment in Atlanta, meals and daily living expenses, and lost income during this time.

Ricky has spent his life building and repairing things for others. Now it’s our turn to help lift him up.
