Having a nurse ask if I had made any funeral arrangements while my mother is still alive is beyond wild… and scary.

About two and a half years ago, my mom went to the hospital for a horrible non stop headache. She ended up having an aggressive brain tumor and was diagnosed with Glioblastomas. It is the most common and deadliest type of primary malignant brain tumor. She was given about 2 years to live.

She lived in Florida with her long term boyfriend (who randomly had a stroke in Jan and passed) until she fell and hit her head. She then moved in with me (her daughter) in Virginia. While she was in Florida I was told she had an insurance policy to cover funeral arrangements. After receiving the paperwork and looking over everything myself, she will not qualify and the policy is pretty much useless. So it’s now down to me and I didn’t plan ahead, thinking it was taken care of.

She lives with me and my brother is her primary caregiver. She had a seizure last week sending her to the hospital and was finally released on hospice. She cannot barely see or move and is having crazy hallucinations. She is always talking to me like I’m someone else now and she has no short term memory. She needs 24/7 care. She’s turning back into a baby before our eyes, and it’s happening fast.

We are at the two year mark now and I know how important a proper burial was to her. As much as I don’t like asking for help, I’m asking her friends and family for help. If you could spare anything, please help me send her to the lord the way she would like to be delivered. Until she reaches there, make sure to come on by and say hey
