Melissa, a dear friend from work, suffered a tragic health event this week. While she fought to come back to her friends and family for a few days, she was unable to wake up and peacefully passed away this morning. She was in her early 40s, a loving mother to five children, and a dedicated worker at an inpatient psych facility. Melissa had just graduated with her BSN and was excited to finally start her new life as a nurse, looking forward to her 'first big girl check.'

Melissa worked PRN at our facility, which meant she did not have insurance or financial support in a sudden and unexpected event like this. Her passing has left her family and friends heartbroken, and her children facing an uncertain future. God did not create us to be mediocre or to walk alone; we are here to love and serve others. Melissa’s life was a testament to that calling, and she inspired those around her to do better and be better every day.
