Support for Melissa After Justin's Passing

Donation protected
On February 24th, 2026, Justin Lambert passed away unexpectedly in a motorcycle accident in Goodyear, Arizona. He is survived by his beautiful wife, Melissa Lambert, and their sweet pups.

Melissa and Justin started their journey together in 2011. They met on Labor Day at a BBQ for their college small group in San Diego. It was fitting that the first words he ever spoke to her were not “hello” but instead about her truck, inquiring it if was a 5-speed. It was. From that moment on, Justin had Melissa’s attention and she had his. A month later on Halloween, Justin asked Melissa to be his girlfriend. Little did either of them know what a big role that date would play in their relationship! On October 31st, 2013, exactly two years later, Melissa and Justin decided it was the perfect day to elope at the courthouse in San Diego. Three years later the happy couple made their big move from San Diego to Arizona, where they got their house keys on—you guessed it—October 31st!

If you have ever met Melissa, you already know she is the type that would do anything for you. Whether it’s taking you under her wing in jiu-jitsu, picking up extra shifts at work, volunteering for a worthy cause, celebrating her loved ones, or even just simply checking in on you—Melissa is a friend to all. Many of you know Melissa from the jiu-jitsu community, where she’s the friendliest face at tournaments, open mats, and training at Proving Ground and other Ares gyms. Melissa has a heart of gold, and now it’s time for us to show up for Melissa the same way she shows up for others. Your donation will help ensure Melissa is able to take the time off that she needs to grieve, as well cover any memorial expenses. Anything helps and everything is appreciated. Thank you.
