My beautiful Libby was a 6 year old in a 27 old body. She was a pure soul that brightened every room. Although she was clearly sent down by GOD and meant to be here, she was plagued physically from being medically fragile from the minute she was born. Sadly, Hopkins became her other home. Due to her NF1(Neurofibromatosis) and the medication she took for her high blood pressure beginning at seven years old, her facial features changed. As a result, her jaw would not close properly but
her smile was brighter than the sun and her laugh infectious. She could make anybody feel good. She was always willing to help others in need such as a mother with young children, who was facing the same surgery she had just gone through. She was blessed to have been baptized this past Summer at her insistence. She cried HALLELUJAH over and over. She LOVED the LORD. There is a sign in my house that says “ all I need today is a little bit of coffee and a whole lot of Jesus!” Libby would say,” forget the coffee just give me Jesus!” Libby was always stating that she couldn’t wait to meet Jesus. Her most important question was, could she bring her iPad with her because she loved playing kids games and using the bible study Apps. She also asked if she could get her favorite foods in Heaven because she loved to eat and boy, did that girl love her Christian music!

We truly didn’t think when we went in on January 22, 2026 that February 22, 2026 would be the day she took her last breath. We (her family) were her full-time caregivers to ensure that she received the best of care the way Libby wanted. Libby was autistic as well, continuity was very important and she did not like being around or cared for by people that weren’t her immediate family. Therefore, we became full time employees, lovingly caring for her every day. So when Libby passed, we not only lost our precious child but possibly our home and everything with it since we no longer have an income. I humbly ask that you search your heart and please grant us assistance in this time of need as we transition from being caregivers to whatever the LORD has planned for us as our new normal. Due to the circumstances, since we have no savings and this was such a shock, we trust that our father will find a way for us to get the needs he so dearly wants us to have because we truly dedicated our lives to this precious soul he entrusted to us. It was our privilege and honor to care for her each and every day and if we knew that continuing to do so would have brought her to better health and quality of life, we would have done whatever it took. It was clear to us that the Lord wanted her home more than he wanted her staying with us at this point. My baby girl, even with the last of the times that she spoke, was trying to make sure that her mommy was taken care of. She didn’t like when we were in the ICU, because there was nowhere for Mommy to sleep. I kept telling her I was fine and I’m OK and to just get better. We prayed and we loved her and we still love her with every ounce of our being. Yesterday she was buried next to her grandmother and her aunt. I know she is at peace and I already see her walking hand-in-hand with Jesus. When I was laying with her in the hospital bed, I saw HIM reach out his hand to her and guide her back home. Whatever happens, we know that our father, in Jesus name, take us from glory to glory and and that everything that is going on and has gone on is ultimately for the good. GOD BLESS YOU
