Support for Landree

My sister, Landree Shields was at her 13th birthday party on Saturday, June 10th when she had a grand mal seizure while sitting on the tailgate of a truck. Landree fell face first landing on cement, she was taken to Caldwell Memorial Hospital where we learned she had multiple jaw fractures, a gashed chin, multiple broken teeth and scrapes/cuts all over her body. After her scans they told us she needed to be transported to a trauma center because of the extensive injuries. She then got her chin stitched up put on morphine and taken to Levine's Children Hospital in Charlotte. They did more scans of their own when we arrived and then she was put in her room. She was scheduled to have surgery on Sunday, June 11th (her birthday) at 1:30, the plastic surgeon that is performing the surgery came in before to tell us surgery has to be postponed because he needs more opinions and hands for the surgery that the damages are far more extensive than he had anticipated. He needs a team put together so the O.R. schedule has to work out for multiple doctors to have time to perform her surgery. She has suffered from 2 breaks and a dislocation on her right side of her jaw, 1 break and a dislocation on her left side, and 2 breaks on her chin. We have no idea how long she will be in the hospital or how much everything will cost. My mom and I both have taken time off from work but my mom will continue to have to take off for post op appts and to be there for this very long road to recovery. Going back and forth to Charlotte and being off work plus all of the medical bills quickly piling up is putting a financial strain on my family.
