With saddest hearts, we share this news…

On Wednesday Nov. 6th, James Robert Macdonald, father of four and Physician in his final years of residency in radiology went hiking on Mt. Hood just outside of Portland Oregon. Though an experienced hiker, he came upon snowy conditions, and didn't return home. His body was found by search and rescue two days later. This unexpected tragedy and shock has left his young family and loved ones devastated. He left behind a beloved wife Amanda Seeley Macdonald, young twins, and two little boys aged four and six.

James was loyal & tender-hearted, a devoted husband & a wonderful father. He had a great sense of humor and he was so dedicated to his studies and profession. He was kind, warm, and loving. A hard working, brilliant physician, and a man who loved his family more than anything. He and his sweetest wife Amanda had just celebrated nine years of marriage.

We are in awe of the generosity and goodness of others… the outpouring of love for James and his family has been overwhelming. We have heard so many of your stories of admiration for James & the wonderful man he was, as well as the sharing of grief for such an unimaginable loss.
