Cole Hilton passedaway tragically and entirely unexpectedly while training for the Tour de Whatcom bicycle ride. July 11, 2026

Cole was the most kind person anyone could’ve met. Always had a smile and just simply enjoyed life. He was a devoted family man and treated everyone as though they were his family.

The family and anyone who knew him are absolutely devastated by this sudden loss. We are still trying to process this unimaginable reality, and gather answers, we kindly ask for your patience and space.

If you know anyone who lives along North Lake Samish Road or anywhere around North Lake Samish and has security or doorbell camera footage from 1:00pm to 2:30pm on Saturday July 11th please reach out. East Lake Samish and all entryway around the lake ring cams or video will help as well.

Based on the medical findings we have received, investigators have been informed that Cole’s injuries are consistent with being struck by a vehicle. We are asking anyone with video footage or information from the area during this time to come forward.

Every piece of information could help us better understand what happened.
