The Riverside County Parks Foundation is raising funds to support Riverside County Regional Park and Open-Space District and the Hidden Valley Wildlife Area, recently impacted by the Bain Fire. All proceeds from this fundraiser will benefit the fire recovery and restoration efforts and aid in reopening the site to the public. Your contribution will help restore trails, wildlife habitat, educational facilities, and visitor amenities at Hidden Valley Wildlife Area and Nature Center. Together, we can rebuild this treasured community resource and ensure future generations have opportunities to connect with nature through recreation, education, and conservation.
Hidden Valley Wildlife Area and Nature Center Restoration Goals:
- Restore Critical Visitor Infrastructure: Rebuild damaged fencing, gates, trailhead amenities, interpretive and wayfinding signage to safely welcome visitors back to the wildlife area.
- Repair Educational and Nature Center Facilities: Restore damaged amenities and outdoor learning spaces, including the nature play area and nature education trail(s), that provide environmental education opportunities for students, families, and community groups.
- Rebuild Trails and Outdoor Recreation Areas: Restore and stabilize trails, equestrian access, and recreation facilities such as trailheads, to reconnect the community with nature.
- Strengthen Long-Term Resilience and Stewardship: Invest in improvements to help protect Hidden Valley Wildlife Area from future disasters while supporting long-term conservation and public access, including irrigation system repairs and upgrades and volunteer stewardship and restoration programs.
- Rehabilitate Native Habitat and Landscapes: Restore fire-damaged vegetation and sensitive habitat areas to support wildlife, improve ecosystem health, and enhance the natural beauty of the site.
