Support Favor's Journey to Adoption

Donation protected
I am a volunteer and supporter of Rescuing Equines in Need (REIN), a non-profit corporation based in Polk County, North Carolina. Founded recently by Joy Baker, DVM, this rescue focuses on saving abandoned or unwanted horses, after assessing and caring for them at their farm.

Many of the horses that arrive at REIN are babies taken from their mothers at an early age. Mostly feral, these babies have to be habituated to human contact, fed, trained and cared for over months or even years before they are eligible for adoption.

This campaign is to raise money for Favor, the beautiful colt in the photo. Favor has been at REIN long enough to accept human contact, lead while haltered and to become healthy and strong. He is now 2 years old and ready to begin round pen training but one thing needs to be done first. As a male horse, he cannot be adopted unless he is gelded. Our vet recently examined him and determined that he is cryptorchid and will require surgery under a general anesthesia in a veterinary hospital.

Please help REIN with the cost of the surgery!

The mythical unicorn has become a symbol for the ideal horse. With your help, Favor can become the "unicorn" for some deserving horse lover - and live happily ever after!
