Family owned restaurant COVID19 relief fund
#SmallBusinessRelief
Our Peruvian restaurant has been operating in Antioch CA for the last 4 years. Antioch, CA is a small suburb about 1.5 hours away from San Francisco (website).
Several small businesses and family owned restaurants like our own live more or less month to month trying to make enough money to cover the basic needs /costs of operating the restaurant itself.
With the rise of COVID-19 across USA in the last several weeks, small businesses have been amongst the most impacted economically speaking. In line with the shelter in place mandate, we have decided to reduce our business hours and only do to-go orders but there have been too many days of no sales at all since the pandemic started.
Although officials have urged individuals to make use of take out/to go services especially through gig apps, people in suburbs in Antioch, CA are not used to using phone apps too often. In the wake of the pandemic onboarding to these new apps as a restaurant has also seen extreme delays. We are doing our best to advertise across various social media platforms that customers can still order via phone or via social media outlets to pick up their orders but the community we usually rely on as customers has also been suffering economically as they are primarily workers who will not receive any pay during this shelter in place.
Hence this fund is to hopefully raise some money to keep the restaurant open and afloat during these difficult times. Without any additional help we may need to close but this is the main source of income for our family so that would also be devastating.
The money raised will go directly to paying for these bills:
- Rent
- Electricity
- Water
- Gas
- Phone
- Extended family impacted
- Help at restaurant impacted
Please consider donating even the cost of a small coffee or sandwich would be tremendously helpful.
