Before I get started, I want to thank everyone who has helped me in the past 20 months. For those that don’t know, I have had six surgeries between 02/02/2025 - 09/23/2026.
Health issues began on 02/01/2025 when I went to the ER for congenital diverticulitis. Had surgery the following day. My appendix was removed and lost 4” of my colon. Immediately after the surgery, my surgical wound and staples were leaking waste.
Ended up with a colon infection that sent me into sepsis. On 02/07/2025, had my second surgery. When I discharged on 02/14/2025, had to wear a wound vac for six weeks.
The colon infection ruptured my abdominal wall and created a hernia. On 06/23/2025, had my third surgery that repaired the hernia and placed a mesh inside my stomach.
When my health and life finally started to improve, I was rear ended by a drunk driver on NYE. Was on my way home from work. The collision ripped my mesh and created a second hernia.
On 06/15/2026, had my fourth surgery to repair the mesh and the second hernia. Around a month after that, my surgical wound was leaking fluid.
On 08/06/2026, had my fifth surgery to repair the leakage. During the procedure, the surgeon found an infection on the mesh. I was prescribed antibiotics for a few weeks to kill it off. While the medicine did prevent it from spreading to my organs, a CT abdomen/pelvic scan showed the infection was still on the mesh.
On 09/23/2026, had my sixth surgery that replaced my infected mesh, repaired a hernia, and reconstructed my abdominal wall.
The surgeon said with so much happening in a short time frame, it will take no less than 2-3 years to recover. I tried to go back to work and live independently, but my health would not allow it.
Left with no other choice but to fundraise. A donation of any amount or sharing is appreciated. Thank you all again.
