At an ER visit this past Tuesday, Elaine learned of a very large mass in her pelvis. Things have moved quickly from there. She’s scheduled for surgery this Wednesday, Sept. 8th. We know that the mass has to come out but we won’t know if it’s benign or malignant until the mass is biopsied during the surgery. We are organizing for immediate needs and will continue to send updates via the CaringBridge site for additional ways to help as they are known.
We know you love and care for this family. Elaine will be in the hospital for around 5 days post-op and is looking at a 6-week recovery period for this major surgery. We are raising funds to cover loss of income (Elaine is currently unemployed and is missing booked facilitation and consulting gigs that the family was counting on), medications, medical bills and other necessities. We may adjust the goal depending on what we learn after the surgery.
