Don Grace has spent his life protecting and serving others. A devoted husband to Michele, proud father to Brendan, Maura, and Katie, and loving grandfather to four beautiful grandchildren, Don has always put others before himself.
For over 30 years, Don served his community and his country as a St. Louis “copper” and DEA agent, dedicating his career to keeping people safe and upholding justice. His courage, compassion, and unwavering sense of duty left a lasting mark on his family and everyone he worked with. Whether he was serving on the streets, mentoring younger officers, or supporting fellow agents, Don always led with integrity and heart.
Even after retiring from law enforcement, Don continued to make a difference in the private sector, always driven by the same commitment to helping others. Outside of work, he cherishes time spent with Michele on their boat, enjoys staying active, and countless adventures with his loyal German Shepherd, Lucy. His sharp wit, good humor, and love of storytelling have brought laughter and warmth to friends, family, and colleagues alike.
Just a few days ago, tragedy struck. Don suffered a massive heart attack, leaving his heart severely damaged and unable to recover without a heart transplant. He is now in critical care at VCU in Richmond, VA, surrounded by his loving family and an incredible network of friends and former colleagues who have rallied around him as they wait for a donor. Michele and their children remain steadfast at his side, drawing strength from their faith and the overwhelming outpouring of support.
As Don fights for his life, the family faces not only the emotional toll of this crisis but also the significant financial challenges of extended hospital stays, travel, and living expenses far from home.
Now, it’s our turn to serve the man who has served so many.
Your donations will help relieve the financial burden on the Grace family, allowing them to focus on what matters most, Don’s healing and recovery.
Anyone who knows Don knows his strength, resilience, and FIGHTING spirit. He’s determined to get back home and to play with his grandkids, tell more stories, and continue living the wonderful life he’s built through so much hard work and sacrifice.
Your generosity (no matter the size) will make a real difference for Don and his family during this critical time. Thank you for standing with them and showing how the same community/country Don protected for decades now stands ready to protect him.
