Support Derek to attend Class at Sac State

Hi, my name is Derek Bradley, and I am a current doctoral student in the second semester of my doctoral journey at Sacramento State University. I recently accepted a new position as a Director of Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls. However, I have financial constraints to continue flying back and forth from Minnesota to California.

As a first-generation college graduate, working on my doctoral degree was something that I never thought was possible. Yet, as a doctoral student at Sacramento State University, my time has prepared me to be a transformative educational leader in serving students and the larger community while advocating for equitable access to education. While I can pause from the program or look for another doctoral program in my area, I have built a strong relationship with my current cohort, D15RUPTORS. This group of individuals has impacted my life, which some people never get a chance to experience. Therefore, we all must start and complete this program together because we want to disrupt these educational systems and practices that were not suited for individuals like myself.

With classes every other weekend, I have financial constraints to continue flying back and forth from Minnesota to California. An average roundtrip plane ticket costs $700, plus a rental car, gas, and food. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Please share amongst your networks.
