Support Denise's Fight Against Glioblastoma

Hi, my name is Brooke Thompson and I have created the GoFundMe to help my mother, Denise (Buckner) Countryman, with expenses related to her medical diagnosis of Grade 4, Wild-Type Glioblastoma.

The following is a snapshot of our journey to this point:

April 3rd: Mom went to the podiatrist because three of her toes on her left foot had went numb. The numbness spread from her 3 baby toes on her left side to her left cheekbone.

April 8th: Primary care physician (Dr Kittle who is amazing!) ordered an MRI, which revealed 2 brain tumors, one large on right temporal lobe and one smaller on the right side of the thalamus.

May 7th: Mom had a biopsy, which was when she received the Glioblastoma (GBM) diagnosis.

May 30th: large tumor was resected and it was confirmed that the thalamus tumor is inoperable.

June 17th: Mom went to MD Anderson to start her journey there, which will consist of 6 weeks of Chemotherapy and Radiation 5 days a week and Physical Therapy 3 days a week.

On April 8th, mom walked into her appointment to get an MRI and as of today (June 19th) mom is wheelchair bound. This journey has been very emotional and hard for her, Willie, us kids and all of her family and loved ones. Willie and my aunt Diane Suthoff will be rotating weeks being her caregiver in Houston, TX for the next 6 weeks.
