Support DeMarco's Fight for Life

The child on the left is DeMarco Bradford. He's been one of my sons' (on the right) best friends since they were little. This is an old picture from elementary school when DeMarco slept over almost every weekend, and they did everything together. They are both 17 now, and DeMarco was shot and critically injured on Monday, April 22nd, while he was playing basketball after school. DeMarco is the sweetest kid I've ever met. He has one tattoo, and it's his mother's name; he is curious and diligent in his studies and only ever wants to make his family and friends happy and hopeful.

DeMarco is in serious straights. He's in a coma from the gunshot wound and is in an overtaxed and understaffed hospital. I don't need to elaborate on how poorly our healthcare system treats Black people, and the family is definitely feeling the lack of concern and/or ability to provide quality care.

DeMarco is struggling to survive, and the medical bills will be enormous even with the "good" health insurance his mother pays for out of every check.

Please help to support this family in crisis. DeMarco is just a great kid who loves playing basketball and was in the wrong place at the wrong time. T
