Ben & Chantelle recently received devastating news their 3rd grade son, Damien Hudachek, has a mass on his cerebellum - the part of the brain responsible for balance and coordination.

The family is praying the mass is benign (best-case scenario), but Damien needs surgery as soon as possible. The upcoming surgery will determine the type of tumor and treatment plan going forward.

Damien needs neurosurgery soon and the risks are significant. His hospital stay is expected to be 7-10 days, with the first several days in the ICU. Depending on how he recovers, Damien may require ongoing rehabilitation and follow-up care.

The Hudachek's use Medi-Share, a Christian medical sharing program that helps with routine medical needs but can leave families with extremely high out-of-pocket costs for major procedures like neurosurgery, ICU care, and rehabilitation. The surgery cost alone is estimated to be $163,000 out of pocket with 50% due to schedule the surgery, as of 12/2/2025 AM. This means the Hudachek family needs to pay $82,000 just to get Damien on the surgeon's calendar!
