Support Dr. Charles Lule's Battle with Parkinson's

Hello, friends, family, and kind strangers,

We are reaching out to share the story of my incredible husband,

Dr Charles Lule, who has been bravely battling Parkinson's Disease (PD) for the past four years. As a devoted father to our two adult daughters—one of whom is still in college—Charles has always been a pillar of strength and support for our family.

His journey:

Before his diagnosis, Charles dedicated over 25 years of his career to providing healthcare for others, as a physician scientist, with 15 years of those in intra-operative neuro-monitoring. His passion for helping others and advancing medical science was evident in every aspect of his work. Even after his diagnosis, he continued to work for two years, pushing through the challenges that PD presented, until the disease became too aggressive to manage.

Today, Parkinson's has significantly affected his motor function. He struggles to walk independently due to severe weakness in both his upper and lower limbs, with the right side of his body experiencing debilitating tremors. Additionally, he now faces extended periods of severe muscle spasms and deep neuro pain, which greatly impact his quality of life. He has developed significant tolerance to the medications and experiences long repeated off periods, during which his symptoms are intense.

Our Current Situation:

To ensure Charles receives the care he needs, we have hired assistance to help him with activities of daily living (ADLs), manage his pain, and ensure he takes his medications on time. However, the costs associated with his care are mounting, and it has become increasingly difficult for our family to manage.
