Support Brenda's Fight with Multiple Illnesses

Update: Brenda passed away on February 11, 2025. This will also be going towards funeral costs, and other related expenses.

Brenda, my mom, has a multitude of severe health challenges. These include diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis, and osteoarthritis, heart failure, kidney failure, cirrhosis of the liver, and other failing organs. She also has Diabetes, arthritis and Charcot foot in both feet, which means the bones in her feet and ankles have crushed and consolidated into hard masses that threaten to puncture the bottoms of her feet. Her hands are severely crippled and every knuckle in every finger is affected. Her knees and hips are in need of being replaced. She has sleep apnea, and the doctors can't do surgery because of high risk of complications caused by her other conditions.

Over the past few years she went from Hospice care to Paliative care, and while there is no chance for improvement, she had stabilized up until recently. She’s now back in the hospital, in and out of the ICU. The plan as of this moment is to amputate more of her feet, to try and remove sepsis, and most likely return to hospice care following the surgery.

I became her full time caregiver several years ago, once it became impossible to hold a job and take care of her. In the last year her condition has worsened to the point she can’t go to the restroom without assistance. She lost her Medicaid over summer, which is what paid me to take care of her. We’ve gotten it back, then lost it again. With her in the hospital, I won’t be getting paid again. We were working on getting caught up on rent when she was hospitalized, and are currently two months behind on rent.

I’ve been blessed with all the help we’ve received in the past, and I’ll be working on getting a temp job asap. We appreciate all of your help as always, and anything helps.
