This fund is to help Bjorn and Kendall with the extra costs they are having in light of Bjorn's recent diagnosis with Primary CNS Lymphoma. All donations go directly to them for upfront medical costs, parking/transportation, and all the miscellaneous costs popping up. Thank you for donating!
Update:
Bjorn has started intense multimodal chemotherapy, which will continue through the end of 2019. He will receive both outpatient and inpatient chemo infusions, antibody treatments, regular MRIs and other tests to monitor the cancer and the effectiveness of the treatment, and physical therapy to help with the atrophy and neuropathies he is experiencing.
Bjorn's Story:
In early February, Bjorn began having severe sciatic pain from what they thought was a possible herniated disc. After consulting multiple doctors, imaging showed what might be a nerve sheath tumor, cyst, or localized inflammation in the nerves of his lower lumbar region. Over the next several months, in the course of treatment, his symptoms continued to spread and worsen, including numbness down his left leg and arm and increasing weakness in his leg. In mid-August, additional imaging showed inflammation along his spine, and he was referred to a neurologist for a spinal tap to check for a suspected spinal infection. When he continued to decline noticeably, he went to the ER on Sunday, August 25th. He underwent multiple tests and a spinal tap, where spinal fluid showed evidence of lymphoma. It took multiple days to confirm this diagnosis, but the pathology report came back that Bjorn has a very rare type of non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma that is centralized in his spinal cord.
