Support Bee's PCOS and IVF Journey

Donation protected
Hi everyone,

I’m asking for your help for two of the most incredible people I know, my best friend Angelique (Bee) and her husband Lane. Finding each other in a small mountain town in southern Colorado, they fell in love, married, and began building their life. They started building their family with 4 fur babies, 2 cats and 2 dogs, before trying for a human baby.

Bee and Lane have been trying to start a family for years. They finally sought medical assistance this last year, which was one of the hardest decisions I’ve seen her make. To admit that you may have a problem or just face that ultimate fear that you may not be able to have children was unbearable to her. But she persevered and faced it head-on.

The diagnosis of PCOS she received was devastating, but there was a small sense of peace to finally have the knowledge of what is wrong. PCOS is causing her hormones to spike out of normal range and for multiple cysts to grow on her ovaries, both causing irregular, painful periods, and other symptoms. Bee’s diagnosis was a shock to everyone, but their doctor explained that there was still a chance. A small light at the end of a very long tunnel.

To move forward with their dream, Bee and Lane consulted with a PCOS specialist through an IVF clinic in Denver. An action plan was formed, but it was daunting to say the least. She has already begun regulating her body to a strict PCOS diet and exercise routine to help maintain her hormone levels. Bee will have to undergo Elective Surgery to remove all the cysts from her ovaries, taking her out of work for 2 weeks for travel and recovery.

The terrifying thought is that there is a risk she will have to undergo a second surgery if any cysts grow back before 3 successful IVF egg retrieval rounds have been completed. And that’s just the medical side of things. Having all their IVF in-person appointments take place in Denver has been costing Lane and Bee even more in travel expenses. To help supplement this increase in expenses, Lane has been taking more shifts at work, but it leaves him unavailable to travel with Bee. Lane has been a wonderful and supportive husband through this whole journey, and though I know he’d never complain, I know it takes a toll on him going through this too, especially with being unable to accompany Bee on most of her Denver appointments.

Bee and Lane's emotions have been put through a wringer. Both are of the Christian faith, so the initial devastating news really tested them. But after doing extensive IVF research and speaking it over with their pastor, they took that monumental first step and said, “Yes, let’s try!” Their courage is inspiring and their bond unbreakable.

The medical bills from the IVF process were already steep. With very little insurance available, the cost is substantial. Now they’re facing additional costs due to this Elective Surgery and additional PCOS treatments, missed work due to recovery, and travel expenses, all on top of trying to save money to start their family.

Bee and Lane are facing the hardest challenge of their lives – emotionally, physically, and financially. Please help me make money be the last thing they worry about right now, and focus instead on starting their family, no matter how long the road may be.

Any amount, no matter how small, would mean the world. Even if you can’t donate, sharing this with others would be a huge help.

Thank you! And God bless!
