Please Help Our Sister (Barbara Gibson) Rebuild After Devastating Apartment Fire

I’m reaching out with a heavy heart to ask for support for my sister, whose apartment building (50 Riverdale Avenue, Yonkers, NY) recently caught fire. While we are incredibly grateful that she was at work at the time, the aftereffects of the smoke and water damage have been devastating.

The fire caused extensive damage, fortunately the flames didn’t destroy her things, smoke and water damage have ruined nearly all of her personal belongings - clothing, electronics, and cherished keepsakes—so many things she worked hard for—have been lost. For those who know Barbara, you know that she recently relocated to her hometown of Yonkers 2 months ago, so you could imagine the devastation. Fortunately for her, she had not moved all of furnishings to Yonkers yet.

She is now facing the unexpected challenge of finding temporary lodging and replacing her clothing and personal items. Between securing a new place to live and replacing everyday essentials, the financial burden is more than she can handle alone.
