My name is Monte Merrick. On January 2, 2026, a terrible fire leveled a city block in the downtown area of Arcata California. Among the losses, the newly established Tenth Street Studios was totally destroyed. The artists who shared the studios, my beloved, Laura Corsiglia, and her studio partners, Peggy Rivers, and Van Shields lost their space, decades worth of stored art and the materials they need to make more work, papers, ink, paints, pencils, all of it. Their lives and health were spared, but all else was lost. Please help them recover the ability to continue to make work. Their decades of work may be lost, but we can help them recover their ability to recover.
