We are starting this medical fundraiser for the Pitschka family. Annie Pitschka is already a heart warrior, with a heart of gold. She went through multiple heart surgeries when she was younger, and now she is facing this again. On Christmas Eve, Annie began coughing up blood and was taken to the hospital. A CT scan revealed a pseudoaneurysm with a possible fistula, a dangerous abnormal connection between her aorta and lung. She was airlifted to the Mayo Clinic Hospital, Rochester, and on Christmas Day, underwent a 12-hour open-heart surgery. Her journey and recovery will be tough, but her family is doing everything they can to be by her side. You can read more at her Caring Bridge site:
Annie and her entire family are the most caring, giving people, and now is our chance to give back to them. As you can imagine, medical bills and costs of staying near the hospital—hotel stays, meals, and travel—will add up quickly. We’re hoping to raise funds to help cover these expenses so that Annie’s family can focus on what matters most: supporting her recovery.
Any contribution, big or small, will make a difference and is deeply appreciated. Anything raised beyond what Annie and her family need for this, will be donated to a heart cause of her choice. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your kindness and support.
