Support and Preserve Black Equestrian Arts

Donation protected
The truth is the Black Equestrian tradition has been the blood that makes many horsemen's heartbeat. It has survived us through the toughest of times. It is also a struggle and fight to participate and EXCEL in this industry. Even with the skills and knowledge, without generational wealth or knowledge, the odds are against our success. We are not consistently represented at the highest levels of Equine Sports or Professions due to structural, financial, and cultural barriers.

My name is Avry Jxn and I am a direct descendant of plantation horsemen and indigenous Black agrarians. I practice the art of equitation as medicine for horses and humans. I educate equine athletes to high-school dressage to empower their spirits, preserve their bodies, and grow our shared freedom. I create with horses a transformation for us both. I have given my life to preserve, evolve, and to now teach this art.

I have trained and studied equine husbandry and development for 8 years in three states. All with the vision to create a space to practice and teach this tradition well. The industry has shown me that what I am building I am not 'supposed' to have. That my skills, my pride, my creativity, and my vision are not supposed to live in a body like mine.

I do not intend to diversify the culture that excludes or shames, I'm committed to creating something different. All funds will be used to support the development of our Equestrian Arts Training Facility in Georgia. Facility Acquisition, Infrastructure (Fencing, Barn, Arena) and Equipment.

Nothing similar exists led by Black Equestrian Dressage Artists with a commitment to creating space for us.

So now is the time, where I come into the public humbly as a trainer and leader with a cultural grounding and a commitment to functional empowerment for equine athletes. With the same grit that has gotten Black people through for generations; in industries that hinder our success and exploitat our labor. I ask for the world to make this moment of attention on Black horsemanship, an opportunity to solidify the tradition.

Thank you to all of you who have supported me, recognized my gifts, affirmed them, and poured into me on this journey. Believing in this vision with me. The page is turning, it is hard (very hard) but the vision remains clear.
